Dr. Chiara Ferrario: Defining the Essence of Human Culture and Evolution

Introducing our WiRe fellow, Dr. Chiara Ferrario! Hailing originally from Italy, Chiara has come a long way to be with us here in Münster since obtaining her PhD in Philosophy of Biology University of Wellington in New Zealand. She will be joining the WWU Department of Philosophy in Prof. Krohs’s group.

Chiara’s research area might be the most theoretical of all the research fields of our WiRe Ladies, and she spends her days analyzing the functions that enable the plausible evolutionary explanations of the phenomenon of human culture. As a philosopher, she distinguishes between different kinds of functions to define the essence of human culture and its evolution. She will show that one has to distinguish between different kinds of functions in order to be able to define the essence of human culture and its evolution.
